Did you finish building the glider? Gentle Lady was my first model, it was not easy to build I must say. I think it is better to get at least 4 channel radio since the next model you will build with either have a motor of some sort or ailerons or both.

Anybody for SPAD combat in Auckland? 1/10/2006 2:34:46 p.m.   (Total replies: 0)
I’ve recently built a combat plane. It is GNAT from these plans with a TT 0.25 engine, http://www.spadtothebone.com/SPAD/Gnat/index.html Very cheap and easy to build. Here its first cut with wings made from 3mm coro (now replaced with 5mm coro) http://www.spadworld.net/gallery/albums/userpics/13871/DSCF1032.JPG I had several flights, it is now set up and flies very well. I’d really like to find someone to combat with in Auckland. Please let me know if you are interested in combat. ...

There is a racing track at the stadium in Albany. There are usually lots of people there. On most of the days I think there are more gas powered cars, but come a competition day and there are much more electrics. I cannot explain this to myself. These are mostly 1/10 on road cars. I know people race buggies too, but not sure where.

I'm better but still crashing lots. Most of the time I fly in the garage and just in front of the garage, pretty low in eights or circles. Hover and rotate the tail. Learning to fly sideways and towards me. When I got bored, I decided to try an "alternative" flying style. Went to a field when there is no wind and just opened the throttle and tried to keep the heli in the air as long as possible. I'm sure I did a few loops and rolls (unintentionally and of course I don't have pitch ...

I connected my transmitter to the computer and flew a helicopter model in FMS simulator. I think this was great and helpful to understand how things should be and gave me more confidence for the Dragonfly. I figured that the original 7 cell battery is 8.4 volts and I'm using a polymer battery that's only 7.2 volts now and this is probably why the main rotor is slow and stalling. I also tried using a 3 cell polymer battery, but this did not go well since it was too much for the tail ...

Anybody flies GWS Dragonfly (it's the small EP helicopter) and wants to share hints and experiences? I've got mine several months ago, no heli experience before. Still flies (still learning shall I say).

Potentially severe penalties under the Resource Management Act All local bodies have powers under the Resource Management Act to prosecute people who cut down trees that are protected under their district scheme. A criminal case must be lodged with the Environment Court, which has the powers to award a maximum penalty of $200,000 or two years in prison. Some councils also issue Enforcement of Infringement Notices for ‘moderate’ offences, which are $300 instant fines.
