FLIGHT
It flew!
First public appearance of this magnificient aircraft was on March 7th 2004 at Airsail Electric Day in Clevedon. We had two flights in a light wind and everyone was delighted.
It takes two pilots to control this machine: one is responsible for all flight controls and another for landing gear and steering on the ground.

CONSTRUCTION
It took almost a month evenings of hard work for three people to build this model. Wings, fuselage and tail were built in parallel and later assembled.
The fuselage was made of pieces of blue foam glued together and then cut using hotwire and covered with brown paper.
The wing was cut from white foam and covered with paper. The centre section of the wing about 1m long is permanently attached to the fuselage and fits nicely inside a Hiace van. The centre section of the wing has 4 motors and retracts installed as well as the two aileron servos. Two detachable wingtips carry the other 2 motors.
This model won the Technical Innovation award at the show for the motor mounting method used.
